City Utility Bills The City of Cawker City bills for Electric, Water, Sewer, & Trash pickup. Trash pickup is curbside, Tuesday morning. Electric, Water, & Sewer are regulated by ordinances and are available upon request. Utility Deposit is $150.00 and must be paid before utilities will be turned on. A service connect fee of $35.00 for Electric, and $20.00 for Water plus tax is also due before utilities will be turned on. These two fees are non-refundable. The Utility Deposit is held for 1 year. If your utilities are paid on time every month it will be refunded with interest. Meters are read around the middle of each month and bills are sent before the 1st of the month. Utility bills are due by the 10th of each month; a penalty of 10% will be charged on the 11th. Disconnect date will be around the 21st of each month for non-payment. If disconnected for non-payment a $20.00 reconnect fee for water and $20.00 for electric, plus all of your current account must be paid before the utilities will be reconnected. Utility payments may be mailed or dropped off in the drop box by the front door or bring them to the City office. Zoning for Buildings & Fences
An approved building permit is required for construction of new buildings, additions to existing buildings. Please visit the city office to pick up and or fill out a building permit. Cost: $5.00 per permit A fence permit is required for construction of a new fence. Cost: $5.00 per permit Pets - Dogs & Cats
All dogs and cats within the corporate city limits shall be licensed. Owners will present a proper rabies certificate showing current vaccinations before license is issued. Pit Bulls and Rottweilers are NOT permitted in Cawker City. A limit of 4 dogs or cats is allowed. It is unlawful for dogs to run at large within the City. Annual License Fees Dogs & Cats
Livestock Permits
In order to keep livestock inside city limits a permit must be applied for at the city office. No hogs are permitted inside city limits! For a copy of the ordinance please contact the city office.

Other Fees
Public Tree Burn Site / Compost Pile
Located a 1/2 mile West on Hwy 24, then turn right (north) 1/4 mile. Only Trees, shrubs and yard waste may be dumped. Grass Clippings must be placed in the compost pile. The site is open 24 hours a day. Please remember this site is for yard waste only! Cardboard, lumber, plastic including plastic bags and other household waste is NOT ALLOWED! If rules are not adhered to our burn pit will be closed by the State!
Mowing and Blight
Grass and weeds on or about residential property which, because of its height, lends itself to an influence blight on the neighborhood are not permitted. Any such weeds and grass shall be presumed to be blight if exceeding 12 inches in height. Properties in violation are subject to mowing by the city with costs assessed to the property owner.

- Fax: $3.00 first page, $1 each additional page
